Average Guy

2 days ago, I got another lead into the wonderland world of Quantum Machine Learning.

This time, it starts with a piece of Dr. Frank Zickert's blog.

“…“Estimates predict the quantum computing industry will be a $65 billion market by 2030

The Story of Average Guy

There is a guy called the average guy. Mathematicians talk about him all the time.

The average guy is many times whatever happens in set X divided by all the people in there.

“something per person” => average guy.

There are tons of statistics to pick from but we want to pick from the statistics on quantum computing predicting how much money the field will be worth soon.

65 billion dollars by 2030. That’s our bull’s eye. That’s the mark.

We could hit over it, no problem.

Currently, the quantum computing (qc) market is only worth about 0.5 billion dollars (reference - https://www.globenewswire.com/en/news-release/2021/08/19/2283367/0/en/Global-Quantum-Computing-Market-Size-to-Grow-at-a-CAGR-of-25-40-from-2021-to-2030.html)

So the big futuristic sum means “all humans on earth are likely to behave in such a way that they make the qc market 60 billion dollars more valuable by 2050".

Wow.

This is awesome.

To put it into perspective, let’s draw our average guy for this case.

(insert mental image pliz)

This means the average guy / average person is going to contribute $7.5 dollars to the value of qc technologies assuming our population today remains stagnant.

Jesus. People really love qc.

They could love it some more.

I mean, $7.5

However,

Imagine this. Average guy has all these things they does on average. Millions of things. Trillions. Infinite gazillions. All the things humanity does.

And still, they are going to put an entire 0.002 dollars worth per day into qc.

It’s incredible.

Or am I being naïve. A naïve baye.

(People in machine learning get this allusion).

Perhaps, taking this all so linearly from right now to 2030 is wrong. Maybe average guy is expecting the qc field to go boom in 3 years or so. Hence counting on an exponential Or maybe just a simple linear growth from there on to the mark in 9 years time.

That means average guy is about to unravel a miracle. About to hit gold in qc.

Brace yourselves everyone, keep doing what you are doing and do it harder. You fuel average guy in that regard. They just might make that expected break through real soon.

Average guy, I cheer you on…

Remember, average guy is everybody averaged. They do qc, accounting, farming, tailoring, medicine, doctoring, nursing, researching, toilet cleaning, garbage collection, carpentry, construction, designing, movie acting, music, comedy, writing, everything a human being is doing right now, average guy is doing.

Average guy is the ultimate qubit.

Perhaps not even qubit cuts it as “qubit” is derived from quantum bit. And a bit is a binary digit. It only has two states – 1 and 0. Just two disconnected points in the multiverse of ideas. And so much has come from them.

However,

This guy has infinite states. Like a line has infinite points.

 Infact, let’s call them qu-line.

Average guy is the ultimate qu-line.

And he hails QML.

Coz check this out, the contribution to quantum computing above is 0.002 dollars everyday.

Like, if average guy lived on a dollar a day, he'd save 0.002 of it all just for qc.

Not anything else. Nada.

Oh, how sweet.

How I love qc.

Ahh, average guy. I cheer you on.
